Senior Manager, New Program Development

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking a senior leader to drive the creation of new health programs through its Accelerator pipeline. You will own early‑stage interventions, guiding them from research insight to proven, fundable solutions ready for scale, or making a data‑driven decision to stop.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of pipeline interventions, steering them through the stage‑gate process and deciding which advance, reshape, or exit.
• Critically assess evidence bases, model impact and cost‑effectiveness, and work with the Cost‑Effectiveness team to produce clear go/no‑go recommendations.
• Design and execute lean field activities (scoping, formative research, pilots) to resolve key uncertainties.
• Build compelling, evidence‑grounded investment cases and align researchers, implementers, governments, and donors.
• Collaborate with Growth, Program, and Country teams to secure resources, funding, and policy partnerships.
• Lead external conversations with study authors, implementing organizations, government officials, and funders to source new ideas and partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 6‑10 years of experience in quantitative social science, program management, international development, or global health across multiple countries.
• Proven ability to read primary research critically, synthesize large/conflicting evidence, and form honest conclusions.
• Experience building or interpreting cost‑effectiveness, epidemiological, or statistical models, articulating assumptions and uncertainty.
• Track record designing and delivering lean learning activities that unblock decisions under tight timelines.
• Strong cross‑cultural partnership skills, able to build trust with internal teams, researchers, governments, and donors.
