Consultant Cardiologist

About the role

Our client, a modern tertiary healthcare facility, is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiologist to deliver specialist cardiovascular care, manage complex cardiac cases and support emergency services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease and arrhythmias.
• Perform and interpret ECG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, exercise stress testing and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
• Participate in cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography and other interventional procedures where required.
• Lead cardiology ward rounds, supervise junior clinicians and contribute to clinical protocols and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage acute cardiac emergencies, support cardiac arrest resuscitation and be part of on‑call emergency arrangements.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent, Fellowship in Cardiology (FWACP, FMCP or equivalent) and full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Minimum 5 years post‑fellowship experience in a consultant cardiology role, preferably in a tertiary or teaching hospital.
