About the role

Lead the legal structuring, negotiation and execution of material commercial transactions, providing strategic legal support for revenue‑generating and business‑critical deals across the telecom and technology sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal negotiations and execution of high‑value commercial agreements, including enterprise, wholesale, infrastructure sharing and strategic partnerships.
• Partner with Business Development, Sales, Finance and Technology teams to structure and close high‑value opportunities.
• Provide legal input on new business models, routes to market, and asset‑monetisation initiatives.
• Develop and oversee the company’s legal strategy aligned with corporate and commercial objectives.
• Serve as principal legal adviser to the CEO and executive management, determining legal approaches within approved policies.
• Manage external counsel, setting scopes, budgets and monitoring expenditure to ensure value for money.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognised institution and Barrister‑at‑Law (B.L.) qualification, admitted to practise in Nigeria.
• Minimum 10–15 years post‑call experience in corporate and commercial law, with at least 5–7 years in a senior legal or company secretarial leadership role.
• Proven track record of structuring, negotiating and closing complex high‑value commercial transactions.
• Strong experience advising CEOs, executive management and boards, with corporate governance and company secretarial expertise.
• Experience in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure or related transaction‑intensive sectors is strongly preferred.
