About the role
The Group Executive Director, Finance will shape and execute the financial strategy of a diversified mining, energy and manufacturing group. Reporting to the Group CEO and Board, you will provide strategic financial guidance for capital projects, acquisitions, joint ventures and market expansion.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Group’s financial strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Advise the GCEO and Board on financial implications of strategic decisions, including M&A, capital projects and market entry.
- Lead group budgeting, financial planning, forecasting and performance management.
- Oversee treasury, capital structure, liquidity management and financing activities.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory regulations, tax and corporate governance requirements.
- Drive enterprise‑wide financial risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Lead financial due diligence, valuations, M&A transactions and investment appraisals.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, development finance institutions and regulators.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing Group Finance function and drive finance transformation and digitalisation.
- Chair the Group Risk Committee and report to the Board Audit & Risk Committee on financial risk exposure.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or CFA (mandatory).
- 18–25 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 8 years at Group CFO, Executive Director Finance or equivalent senior level.
- Proven experience in heavy industries (steel manufacturing, mining, energy, oil & gas or industrial manufacturing) and in multi‑subsidiary or conglomerate structures.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, treasury, capital markets, project finance and investment management.
- Extensive experience engaging Boards, investors, financial institutions and regulators.
