ELV & Smart Building Technologist

About the role

Ujax Engineering is seeking an ELV & Smart Building Technologist to join its technical team in Abuja. The role involves on‑site installation, configuration and maintenance of ELV and smart‑building systems for residential, commercial and hospitality projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain ELV systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address and networking.
• Carry out smart‑home and building‑automation installations such as lighting, smart switches, curtains and sensors.
• Terminate structured cabling (CAT6, fibre) and organise rack layouts.
• Configure, test and commission devices to ensure proper functionality before handover.
• Read drawings and site plans, follow project instructions and troubleshoot faults during and after installation.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians on‑site and maintain tidy tools and work areas.
• Support system handover and provide basic client guidance.

Required profile

• HND, BA/BSc or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, ICT or related field.
• 2–5 years of practical experience with ELV or smart‑building systems.
• Basic understanding of networking, IP devices and power systems.
• Ability to use installation tools and testing equipment.
• Willingness to learn and grow in smart automation and ELV technologies.
• On‑site availability and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Good attitude, honesty and teamwork.
• Prior experience in hotels or large residential projects is a plus.
