EHS Officer – Environmental Health & Safety

About the role

The EHS Officer will support the implementation of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures across Sika Manufacturing Nigeria Limited. The role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a safe workplace and assists in monitoring sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement EHS policies, procedures and programs.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor workplace practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections and corrective actions.
• Coordinate EHS training and awareness programmes.
• Report and investigate accidents, near‑misses and hazards.
• Drive environmental sustainability initiatives such as waste management and energy conservation.
• Liaise with staff to encourage safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an EHS or related role.
• Proven knowledge of HSE/EHS principles and workplace safety standards.
• Professional certification (e.g., HSE Level 1‑3, NEBOSH IGC) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
