Director of Investment – Heavy Industries

About the role

Brendan Nicholas Holdings is recruiting a Director of Investment for its Heavy Industries Desk. This governance and investment role focuses on assessing opportunities, assembling boards and executive teams, and originating new companies, while operational responsibilities lie with appointed CEOs and CFOs.

Key responsibilities

• Activate and govern the desk: constitute companies, appoint boards and executives, and maintain required governance standards.
• Capitalise the primary vehicle in line with an approved plan and hold it to that plan through its first year of operation.
• Originate the desk's next company.
• Build institutional relationships in the mining sector to originate opportunities, access capital, and be recognised as a credible participant.
• Meet annually set targets established by the institution before the year begins.

Required profile

• Direct ownership of an asset or company from origination to operation, rather than an advisory role.
• Decision‑making authority over capital, not limited to recommending its deployment.
• Experience appointing and removing senior executives.
• Experience operating within a governance structure, including its constraints.
• Personal relationships within the mining sector.
