Graduate Accounting Officer

About the role

The Graduate Accounting Officer will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with a variety of accounting tasks in a dynamic Lagos‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, examining and analysing accounting records and financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain an asset register by appraising, evaluating and inventorying company assets.
• Record, reconcile and post petty‑cash and fuel imprest transactions.
• Reconcile payments and receipts, confirm customer deposits and issue receipts.
• Manage all accounting transactions, administer payrolls and control income and expenditure.
• Audit financial information and compile reports, budgets, business plans and financial statements.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc. degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant accounting role.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software.
• Knowledge of accounting principles.
