Country Director

About the role

The Country Director leads Ipas Nigeria’s strategic, programmatic and operational agenda, ensuring the organization delivers high‑impact, financially sustainable services that expand women’s and girls’ access to safe abortion care and contraception. Reporting to global leadership, the role represents Ipas in Nigeria, builds partnerships and drives the country’s visibility as a leader in sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement Ipas Nigeria’s strategic plan in alignment with global vision and mission.
• Provide overall leadership for a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high‑trust, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of SRHR initiatives.
• Ensure rigorous project and award management, including budgeting, work planning and data‑driven performance reviews.
• Maintain full donor contractual compliance and adherence to Ipas network standards and policies.
• Lead business development and resource mobilization efforts to sustain and grow program funding.
• Strengthen technical leadership, promote evidence‑based decision making and adopt innovative solutions.
• Represent Ipas Nigeria with government, civil society, donors and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in the health or development sector, preferably within SRHR.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multi‑partner programs and complex budgets.
• Strong track record of donor compliance, fundraising and partnership building.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication and advocacy skills.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion and the values of Ipas.
