About the role
The Clerk-Accounting supports the finance team at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel by ensuring accurate recording, classification and reporting of financial information. This full‑time position works on‑site and contributes to the smooth operation of accounting processes.
Key responsibilities
- Verify figures, journal entries and supporting documents for accuracy and proper coding.
- Organise and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents in line with company policies.
- Record, store and analyse financial data using computerised systems and electronic spreadsheets.
- Classify, code and summarise numerical information using journals, ledgers and accounting software.
- Prepare and distribute statistical, financial, audit and payroll reports.
- Execute month‑end and period‑end closing procedures as specified.
- Prepare, examine, reconcile and issue invoices and statements.
- Maintain confidentiality, protect company assets and ensure guest privacy.
- Provide professional and timely service to guests and respond to internal communications.
- Perform light physical tasks such as moving items up to 10 lb and other reasonable duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies.
Required skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
