Chief of Staff – Country Program (Nigeria)

About the role

The Chief of Staff will lead the execution of the Country Director’s strategic agenda and drive organisational effectiveness across One Acre Fund’s Nigeria program. Acting as the primary strategic architect and operational lead, you will ensure key priorities are implemented at scale, influencing cross‑functional teams and overseeing high‑risk initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Country Director’s principal strategic advisor, providing analysis, insights and data‑driven recommendations on mission‑critical issues.
• Translate organisational strategy into prioritized, actionable execution plans and maintain accountability for the Country Director’s agenda.
• Lead and coordinate high‑stakes, cross‑functional initiatives across all departments to ensure alignment, resource allocation and timely delivery.
• Conduct research and market/industry analysis to inform executive decision‑making.
• Facilitate strategic communication between the Country Director and senior leadership, ensuring clarity and follow‑through on commitments.
• Manage relationships with high‑level external stakeholders, including major donors, government partners and strategic allies, representing the Country Director.
• Own and sponsor special cross‑functional projects from conception through successful delivery and integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience advising senior leadership on strategic matters and driving execution of organisational priorities.
• Strong ability to influence and coordinate across multiple functions and teams.
• Excellent research, analytical and market‑analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated skill in managing relationships with donors, government entities and strategic partners.
• Track record of leading complex, high‑impact projects to successful outcomes.
