Carpenter

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Carpenter to join our construction team in Lagos. The role involves building, installing and repairing a variety of wooden structures and fixtures while adhering to project specifications and safety standards. This is an entry‑level, full‑time position offering hands‑on experience on active sites.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, install and repair wooden structures, furniture, cabinets, doors, windows and roofing frameworks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood and related materials according to project requirements.
• Install fixtures, fittings, partitions and structural components.
• Inspect, maintain and repair damaged wooden elements.
• Operate and safely maintain carpentry tools, machinery and equipment.
• Estimate material needs, minimise waste and ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment and follow safety regulations.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, architects and other construction professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE qualification.
• At least 12 months of proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials and woodworking tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
• Good mathematical and measurement skills.
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
