Business Development Specialist – Diesel Sales

About the role
The Business Development Specialist will drive high‑volume diesel (AGO) sales growth across Nigeria by acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing customers. This role focuses on strategic B2B sales, large‑account acquisition, contract negotiations, and volume expansion for industrial, commercial, and institutional diesel consumers.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and secure high‑volume diesel supply contracts nationwide, targeting manufacturing, telecom towers, hospitals, hotels, construction, logistics, government agencies, data centres, and large residential estates.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of large diesel consumers (10,000 L – 500,000 L+ per month) and lead contract negotiations and pricing agreements.
- Maintain and grow strategic accounts, ensuring long‑term supply contracts and increasing client lifetime value.
- Monitor market pricing trends, competitor activity, and emerging sectors with rising diesel demand.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to guarantee reliable delivery and regional market penetration.
- Manage collections and credit risk, ensuring timely customer payments in line with credit terms.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or a related field.
- 3‑4 years total experience with at least 1 year focused on diesel sales.
- Proven track record of closing high‑volume diesel contracts and strong relationships with major diesel‑consuming sectors in Nigeria.
- Experience working with fuel marketers, distributors, or energy companies.
