About the role
The Business Development and Sales Officer will drive growth for the trade waste division of a leading waste management and recycling company. You will identify new market opportunities, secure new clients, and nurture existing relationships to increase revenue.
Key responsibilities
- Identify target sectors and prospective customers aligned with the growth strategy.
- Implement creative marketing tactics to engage clients throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Lead tendering processes, collaborating with finance, operations, and bid teams to submit winning proposals.
- Achieve and exceed quarterly sales targets through proactive prospecting and cold‑calling.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline, report activities in CRM tools, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
- Introduce new customers via signed service‑level agreements and manage ongoing relationships.
- Upsell existing accounts, negotiate terms, and close deals.
- Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
- Create detailed proposal documents and liaise with third‑party service suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Senior Sales Manager and technical staff to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within a relevant industry.
- Strong desire to work in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CRM tools for activity tracking and pipeline management.
