Audit & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Audit & Compliance Officer will lead internal audit activities and ensure the organisation complies with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. This role combines risk assessment, control testing and advisory functions to protect the company’s assets and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and reviews to verify compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify operational, financial and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and control improvements.
• Maintain and update compliance documentation, policies and procedures.
• Advise management on governance, compliance obligations and regulatory changes.
• Support external audits and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
• Prepare detailed audit and compliance reports for management review and maintain accurate records of findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in audit, compliance, risk management or internal control functions.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CIA, CISA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and internal audit processes.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, report writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders and manage audit projects.
