Area Business Manager – Direct Sales (Etim Ekpo, Nigeria)

About the role

The Area Business Manager will lead Sun King’s EasyBuy direct‑sales network in Etim Ekpo, coordinating sales, collections and distribution of solar products sold on a pay‑as‑you‑go basis. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, you will be responsible for building a high‑performing team of Energy Officers and ensuring rapid, sustainable growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and retain at least 40 Energy Officers using local influencers such as village heads, teachers and farmers.
• Provide comprehensive training on sales, collections, product knowledge, technical aspects, inventory and logistics.
• Define clear daily tasks, routes, targets and sales/collection plans for each Energy Officer.
• Conduct weekly field visits and touch‑points with every Energy Officer, resolving issues and reporting progress to the Regional Business Manager.
• Participate in the first five sales of each Energy Officer to ensure proper process adoption.
• Organise joint field activities, night activations, market visits and community events to drive engagement and sales.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing field sales teams in a direct‑distribution environment.
• Strong ability to train, coach and motivate large numbers of agents.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with community leaders.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned area.
• High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism when dealing with customers.
