Air Conditioning (AC) Technician

About the role

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning (AC) Technician to join its Lagos yard. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems for industrial and maritime projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install new air‑conditioning, heating and ventilation units, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety codes.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, replacing filters and inspecting electrical connections.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions, diagnose root causes and repair or replace components including compressors, thermostats, motors and fans.
• Handle, recover and dispose of refrigerants in accordance with EPA and health‑safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of installations, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Communicate technical issues and repair options to clients or internal stakeholders, providing time and cost estimates.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• HVAC technician licence or certification is a strong advantage.
• 3–7 years proven experience as an AC/HVAC technician in residential, commercial or industrial settings.
