Accountant – Real Estate & Finance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage the financial reporting and compliance for our group of subsidiaries operating in real‑estate, construction, fintech, micro‑finance and hospitality sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for all subsidiaries and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated statements, including inter‑company reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific regulations such as real‑estate construction accounting, REIT fund management, micro‑finance prudential guidelines and fintech payment reconciliation.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and variance analyses for each business unit.
• Compute, file and remit taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) and coordinate with auditors during periodic audits.
• Oversee vendor payments, contractor milestones, customer/tenant receipts and daily bank reconciliations, producing cash position reports.
• Generate financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with insights on profitability and cost drivers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience, with exposure to at least two sectors: real‑estate development, construction, REIT, fintech, micro‑finance banking or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws and relevant industry regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
