Account Assistant

About the role

The Victory Empowerment Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Account Assistant to support its finance team in Lagos. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience with daily accounting operations and exposure to banking, finance, and insurance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
• Process payments, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and performing reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain proper filing of financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support payroll processing and statutory remittances.
• Monitor expenses to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Assist internal and external audit activities.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
