Zonal Sales Manager - Biscuit Category

About the role

An FMCG company, recruited through a recruitment agency, is looking for an experienced Zonal Sales Manager to drive sales and revenue growth across an assigned zone. The role reports to the Managing Director and supervises ASM and FSS. It is based in Onitsha.

Key responsibilities

• Set and deliver zonal sales goals and quotas, with annual, quarterly and monthly forecasts.
• Lead and coach the zonal sales team to meet or exceed targets.
• Own primary and secondary sales, working with channel and national sales managers.
• Grow revenue by managing distributor sales teams and expanding distributor reach.
• Build strong relationships with key customers and win new ones.
• Manage the zonal budget, trade promotions and expenditure.
• Track competitors, consumer trends and new product opportunities.
• Work with HR on recruiting, training, appraising and managing the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling biscuits (a must).
• Minimum of 7 years in traditional sales operations or sales support.
• FMCG sales experience with a strong grasp of the strategic sales process.
• Track record managing sales projects or programme rollouts from concept to completion.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, organised and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving and quick decision-making skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team, and to keep matters confidential.
• Occasional travel required.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
