Workshop Manager – Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

The Workshop Manager is responsible for optimizing workshop operations to minimise vehicle downtime and deliver high‑quality service. This role leads a team of technicians, ensures strict adherence to procedures, and drives continuous improvement in maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all workshop procedures and systems are known, followed, and documented during vehicle repairs.
• Review initial fault reports, inspect repair quality, and approve vehicle release.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance in line with OEM and ERP requirements.
• Monitor repair time, quality, and KPI targets (EBTS & RFT) to achieve performance goals.
• Maintain a customer‑focused culture and manage relationships with internal and external clients.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment, and tools in ready‑to‑use condition.
• Facilitate training, coaching, and performance feedback for team members.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide input on trailer/vehicle matters.
• Handle accident and incident actions, ensure proper documentation, and enforce HSE policies.
• Manage the department’s annual budget, expenses, and warranty processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a truck or trailer workshop or a related field.
• NSE and CORENB certifications; a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent accreditation is an advantage.
• Proven ability to lead a workshop team and drive productivity improvements.
