Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The Warehouse Assistant supports the warehouse supervisor in managing inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions, and documenting all warehouse transactions in line with International Medical Corps (IMC) policies, donor requirements, and local regulations. This role is essential for maintaining transparent and compliant warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement IMC warehouse procedures as outlined in the Warehouse Manual.
• Maintain appropriate temperature, humidity, and isolation for all commodities, including hazardous or damaged goods.
• Monitor shelf life, report losses or damages, and process stock adjustments.
• Maintain accurate stock records by item and project.
• Supervise casual labor and visitors, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Receive goods, conduct physical counts, prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN), and perform quantity control.
• Organize stacking, optimize indoor/outdoor space, and oversee kitting, de‑kitting, reconditioning, and reconstituting operations.
• Prepare and release goods according to approved Goods Issue Orders (GIOs) and ensure proper packing.
• Oversee loading, document cargo handover, and ensure warehouse cleanliness and pest control.
• Ensure compliance with IMC policies, donor rules, and local laws; support audits and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in fraud prevention, detection, and reporting activities.
• Use Logistics Management & Information System (LMIS) software consistently and accurately.

Required profile

• Ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy.
• Capability to supervise casual labor and manage visitor access.
• Understanding of warehouse safety, hygiene, and pest‑control standards.
• Commitment to compliance, audit readiness, and fraud‑prevention policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Logistics Management & Information System (LMIS) software.
