Volunteer Social Media Manager & Video Editor

About the role

Techrity, a nonprofit focused on talent development and technology for social good in Africa, is looking for a passionate volunteer to manage its social media presence and create short‑form video content. This fully remote position offers the chance to support innovative projects that bridge the digital divide and promote sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Shoot, edit, and publish short‑form videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts using tools such as Capcut, Decrypt and Canva.
• Develop and maintain a monthly social media calendar aligned with organisational goals.
• Track engagement metrics, respond to comments and DMs, and produce monthly performance reports.
• Collaborate with the communications team to craft compelling brand stories.
• Stay up‑to‑date with platform trends, integrating popular effects, sounds and AI‑generated voiceovers (e.g., ElevenLabs).
• Implement strategies to organically grow follower counts in line with set KPIs.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about social impact and comfortable working in a fully remote team.
• Strong eye for visual storytelling and ability to translate program activities into engaging video content.
• Proactive communicator who can engage with followers and handle community questions.
