Truck and Bus Mechanic

About the role

Medessy Enterprises Limited is hiring a full-time Mechanic in its Anambra, Marina operations. The role covers inspecting, diagnosing and repairing trucks, buses and other company vehicles, keeping them running safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults in trucks, buses and other company vehicles.
• Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Repair and replace faulty engine components, braking systems, suspension systems and other mechanical parts.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, clutch and other vehicle problems.
• Conduct regular inspections to spot faults and prevent unexpected breakdowns, and respond to breakdowns with repairs.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work meets the company's safety and operational standards.
• Identify and recommend spare parts needed for repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing and maintenance.
• Work with the electrical and other maintenance teams, and report major faults to the supervisor.
• Keep workshop tools and equipment properly maintained.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2-3 years' proven experience as a Mechanic.
• Relevant technical training, apprenticeship or trade certification in automobile or heavy-duty vehicle mechanics.
• Practical experience repairing and maintaining trucks and other commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; hardworking, reliable, safety-conscious and able to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension systems and other vehicle components.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
