Remote Part-Time Pattern Maker (Denim)

About the role

An experienced Pattern Maker with strong technical expertise in garment construction and Gerber pattern-making software is sought by a client. The role supports the development and refinement of garment patterns, mainly denim pants, skirts and dresses, and involves live fit sessions via video conference. It is a remote, part-time position, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific Time (20 hours per week).

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify garment patterns using Gerber software.
• Analyse garment details and write detailed technical specifications based on design and construction.
• Provide fit comments and pattern adjustments during live model fitting sessions via video conference.
• Collaborate with the client and team to ensure proper construction and fit.
• Maintain organised documentation using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Pattern Maker in the garment or fashion industry.
• Solid understanding of garment construction and fit, and ability to create technical specs from garment details.
• Comfortable taking part in live virtual fit sessions.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience with denim garments is highly preferred.
