Telecoms Projects & Operations Engineer

About the role

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is seeking a Telecoms Projects & Operations Engineer to support the design, installation, operation and maintenance of a wide range of telecommunications systems for oil, gas and renewable energy projects across Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out technical engineering studies for the design, installation and standardisation of telecom systems, masts and earthing in line with specifications and GS TEL rules.
• Operate and maintain field systems such as PA/GA, CCTV, GMDSS, access‑control, radar with AIS, UHF/VHF radios, satellite TV and microwave links (WiMAX, 4G/LTE).
• Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work and evaluation reports for telecom projects and service contracts.
• Supervise offshore telecom specialists and third‑party contractors, ensuring compliance with installation rules.
• Produce technical reports, update engineering documents and contribute to a 5‑year work programme.
• Participate in FAT, commissioning and routine assessment visits, proposing improvements and replacement plans.

Required profile

• Proven ability to conduct technical engineering studies for telecom infrastructure.
• Experience supervising field teams and managing third‑party contractors.
• Strong analytical skills for bid evaluation and technical reporting.
