SOC Engineer – Structured Cabling & Fibre Optic Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a SOC Engineer to support structured office cabling and fibre optic projects for our clients in Lagos. The role involves overseeing installations, testing, and documentation to ensure high‑quality telecom infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Support structured office cabling and fibre optic installation works.
• Confirm quality of copper and fibre terminations, rack installations, and cable management.
• Coordinate and participate in testing, troubleshooting, and certification of UTP and fibre optic systems.
• Work with technicians and subcontractors ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Review site installations, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Support site surveys, BOQ verification, technical documentation, and as‑built drawings.
• Install and maintain racks, patch panels, cable trays, and related telecom infrastructure.
• Ensure proper project close‑out, testing records, and technical documentation.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in structured office cabling, fibre optics or ICT infrastructure, with supervisory experience.
• Graduate of engineering or any numerical science.
• Strong practical knowledge of Cat6/Cat6A, fibre optic cabling, patch panels, racks, and cable management.
• Ability to read drawings, understand technical specifications, and inspect workmanship.
• Knowledge of TIA/BICSI and other applicable structured office cabling standards.
• Experience on major commercial, industrial, oil & gas, or energy projects is an advantage.
