Engineer – IP Edge Planning (Network)

About the role

The Engineer – IP Edge Planning will develop and optimise the internet edge, datacenter and CGNAT firewall architecture. The role involves creating integration plans for data carrier services, provisioning bandwidth, and supporting the organisation's service development roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and design nodes, sites and links within the national IP/MPLS, Core Networks & Edge.
• Produce network convergence hierarchy, topology, architecture and redundancy plans for VPN integration and IP Core transport.
• Collaborate with Transmission Specialists for DWDM backbone capacity planning.
• Design, integrate and manage CGNAT firewalls to meet mobile internet requirements.
• Implement Quality of Service and Class of Service techniques across the network edge and MPLS core.
• Issue work orders, control project processes for capacity expansion and new service introductions.
• Conduct weekly and monthly performance monitoring, trend analysis and capacity forecasting.
• Develop IP addressing, naming and numbering schemes for all network elements.
• Plan, schedule and execute site surveys for accurate network design.
• Design and manage the MTN datacenter network and related IT service integrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in IT & Telecoms, preferably on a large service‑provider network.
• Cisco certification at CCNP/DP or CCIP level.
• Fluent English communication skills.
