Tech Operations Manager

About the role

The Tech Operations Manager will drive the implementation of our technology strategy in Nigeria, ensuring that all IT systems operate smoothly and support business objectives. You will lead a local IT team while collaborating with regional and global partners to deliver innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of IT systems in Nigeria, providing hands‑on support when needed.
• Implement and support IT strategies aligned with business goals.
• Manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the local systems department.
• Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and regulations.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and talent development for the IT team.
• Support Nigeria management in aligning technology initiatives with regional and global teams.
• Maintain availability, stability, and performance of core IT services (end‑user, infrastructure, network, applications).
• Own major incident management, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Execute IT service management processes (incident, problem, change).

Required profile

• Proven track record managing tech operations and leading teams.
• Strong project‑management experience with cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience managing technology suppliers.
• Problem‑solving mindset with pragmatic decision‑making.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, resource‑constrained environments.
• Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro) in manufacturing or FMCG settings.
• Comfortable operating under high‑pressure conditions.
• Ability to influence without authority in matrixed organisations.
