Software Engineering Trainee (Fully Onsite Ikeja/Ogba)

About the role

We are looking for motivated and curious Software Engineering Trainees who want to build practical software engineering skills while contributing to real‑world projects. The trainee will work alongside experienced engineers, receive mentorship, and gain hands‑on experience with modern development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and services.
• Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate applications with internal or third‑party services.
• Work with databases, data modelling, queries, and application data management.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests where applicable.
• Use Git and collaborative workflows for source‑code management.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and other engineering activities.
• Assist with application deployment, monitoring, documentation, and maintenance.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, diploma, bootcamp, or equivalent training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented or functional programming.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, PHP, Go, C/C++).
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Ability to learn quickly, apply feedback, and work collaboratively in a team.
