Shift Packing Supervisor

About the role

Golden Penny Foods is recruiting a Shift Packing Supervisor in Apapa. The role supervises and coordinates shift packing, loading and dispatch operations so that production targets are met, product quality is maintained, equipment runs efficiently and safety, hygiene and operational standards are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily packing and loading by allocating tasks, managing workflow and meeting shift production and dispatch targets.
• Supervise and guide Packing Machine Operators and third-party staff to ensure efficient operations, productivity and teamwork.
• Monitor packing machine performance and fix bottlenecks, breakdowns and other disruptions to minimise downtime.
• Ensure accurate bag weights, correct product coding, proper stitching and compliance with packaging specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor output, product rejects, rework and wastage to improve efficiency and minimise losses.
• Enforce safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping requirements.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents and near misses and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Required profile

• Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Science or a related discipline.
• 5 O' level credits including Mathematics and English, obtained in no more than 2 sittings.
• 2 years of experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of packing and loading operations, packaging materials and production processes.
• Attention to detail on bag weights, product coding, stitching and finished-product quality.
• Technical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
