Shift Manager, Packing Plant

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Shift Manager for its Ibese Plant packing plant. The role plans and coordinates all packing plant production and maintenance activities so that operations run smoothly and plant targets are met. It is a senior staff position within the technical area.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in developing and defining the plant's maintenance plan and shift production activities.
• Oversee the effective and efficient execution of the maintenance plan and shift operations.
• Plan for and order machine spares for the packing plant in a timely way.
• Supervise engineers and shift operational staff so that equipment is available with minimum downtime to meet targets.
• Liaise with HSE personnel on personal protection equipment and safety training.
• Ensure routine and corrective maintenance is done on time and efficiently.
• Coordinate a database for all maintenance activities.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Good leadership, supervisory, problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of the cement production process.
• In-depth knowledge of cement packing machines, their functions and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance repair and replacement methods and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety practices in mechanics and of parts and supplies needed.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment accurately and quickly.
