Service Technician - Electrical & Mechanical Equipment

About the role

A leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor in the construction industry, represented by eRecruiter, is looking for a Service Technician based in Ikoyi, Lagos. The technician installs, services, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment and responds to breakdowns and service requests.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, test and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and system faults.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as required.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and service requests.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning and testing, and replace faulty components.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and parts used, and prepare service reports.
• Escalate technical issues to the Service Manager and liaise with clients on technical support.
• Ensure all work complies with company quality, safety and HSE standards.

Required profile

• OND, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in equipment servicing, maintenance or installation.
• Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical testing and maintenance procedures.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, good communication and record-keeping skills, and strong safety awareness.
