ELV Technician (Operations)

About the role

An innovative company providing high-tech infrastructure services, focused on ELV convenience services, is hiring an ELV Technician (Operations) through its recruiter. The technician joins an installation team that installs equipment under supervision, tests system performance and reports on results. The role involves hands-on work with hand and power tools to calibrate and align system components and circuitry.

Key responsibilities

• Install ELV and ICT systems and appliances to IEE standards on occupied and void properties, indoors and outdoors
• Set up ELV and ICT electronic systems and devices
• Trace, diagnose and rectify faults using testing and measuring equipment, leaving systems safe and serviceable
• Maintain test and commissioning equipment
• Report repairs needed in occupied properties to the area surveyor and obtain customer feedback when requested
• Work with external clients to complete repairs and maintenance, collect and deliver materials and maintain site stocks
• Provide instruction and supervision to apprentices where appropriate
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in occupied properties

Required profile

• Previous experience as an ELV technician, electrical technician or similar role
• Associate's degree or apprenticeship as an electronic technician
• Certification in electronics or electrical engineering is required
• Excellent physical condition and hand-eye coordination

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry
• Familiarity with various tools and equipment, such as drills, LAN testers and diagnostic tooling
• MS Office and diagnostic software (PC-based)
• Ability to read and follow complex technical manuals
