Sensor Integration & Industrial Bus Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Sensor Integration & Industrial Bus Engineer to join our team in Lagos. The role focuses on installing, wiring and configuring a range of industrial sensors and communication buses for data‑centre cooling and power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install and wire the 7‑part inline cooling sensor matrix, including PT100 RTD temperature probes, flow meters, differential pressure transducers and flexible rope leak‑detection circuits.
• Install ATS position monitoring contacts, generator diesel fuel level sensors and UPS telemetry output interfaces.
• Configure edge PLCs and map raw sensor registers from RS485/Modbus RTU and BACnet/IP devices into the PLC memory map.
• Produce and maintain a comprehensive Modbus register map documenting sensor addresses, data types, units, scaling factors and alarm thresholds.
• Set up and maintain a Modbus‑to‑MQTT translation bridge, converting PLC register values into structured MQTT JSON payloads for the EMQX broker.
• Conduct periodic leak‑detection tests and verify ATS and generator telemetry pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control or Mechatronics.
• 2–3 years hands‑on experience in industrial instrumentation, process control, BMS or industrial automation.
• Direct experience installing and wiring physical sensors such as temperature probes, flow meters, pressure transducers or leak‑detection systems.
• Practical experience configuring PLCs and mapping Modbus RTU or BACnet/IP device registers.
• Familiarity with RS485 wiring topology, termination resistor placement and Modbus network debugging.
• Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment (multimeter, cable tester, clamp meter, process calibrator).
