Senior/Lead Engineer – Digital Asset Infrastructure

About the role

Capital Sage Technology is building regulated digital‑asset infrastructure for the Nigerian market, providing the compliance layer that banks, fintechs and corporates plug into. We need a founding‑level senior engineer to own the architecture and lead the end‑to‑end build.

Key responsibilities

• Architect core digital‑asset infrastructure, regulated settlement flows, KYC/KYB, custody, and compliance/reporting systems.
• Make foundational decisions on custody and system design that shape licensing posture and long‑term defensibility.
• Design an API layer built for bank and enterprise integration from day one.
• Partner directly with legal and compliance counsel to ensure system design matches real regulatory requirements.
• Build for a rapidly evolving regulatory environment and grow the engineering team beyond the founding stage.

Required profile

• 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in a senior/lead or founding‑engineer role owning architecture end‑to‑end.
• Experience building financial infrastructure such as payments, settlement, ledgers, or banking‑adjacent platforms.
• Strong backend/cloud architecture skills (AWS or equivalent) with a focus on audit, compliance and access control.
• Working knowledge of blockchain/distributed‑ledger concepts: wallets, custody, stablecoins, tokenization.
• Bonus: African fintech/payments experience or exposure to a live regulatory sandbox process.
