Senior Managing Consultant, Services Business Development - Fintech & Telecommunications

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a commercially driven business development leader to grow its Services business across Telecommunications and Fintech clients in West Africa. The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and focuses on building strategic relationships, originating opportunities and driving sustainable revenue growth. It suits experienced consultative sales professionals who can communicate complex ideas simply.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage business development for Services across Telecommunications and Fintech clients in West Africa, with direct revenue and sales responsibility.
• Refine the value proposition of new and existing Services capabilities for executives in those sectors.
• Serve as the face of Mastercard Services to senior client stakeholders, including C-Suite executives.
• Create value-driven narratives and customized presentations for multi-year, multi-million-dollar opportunities.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Demand Generation, Specialist Sales, Product and Customer Success teams.
• Take ownership of the sales process, from prospecting through negotiation and contract execution.
• Partner with Account Leadership teams on growth plans and with Consulting Services and delivery teams on go-to-market approaches.
• Contribute thought leadership content and share client and assignment knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in consultative sales of consulting services, data products, software platforms or analytical services in Telecommunications, Fintech, Technology or related fields.
• Proven track record of closing complex opportunities with senior decision-makers and selling to C-level executives.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of Telecommunications and Fintech ecosystems across West Africa is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English required; French is desired.
