Senior Malaria Technical Advisor

About the role

The Senior Malaria Technical Advisor (SMTA) will lead the technical vision for integrated service delivery models that combine malaria, MNCH, TB, and HIV screening across the maternal‑child health continuum in Nigeria. Working within a multi‑partner consortium, the SMTA will ensure that project activities align with global and national policies and drive high‑impact results.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance for integrated malaria‑related service delivery.
• Coordinate with sub‑national institutions, NGOs, professional associations, and government agencies to implement project activities.
• Advise on national and global best‑practice examples and facilitate knowledge exchange.
• Develop, disseminate, and monitor technical standards, tools, and reports.
• Support State Malaria Technical Advisors and officers in timely implementation of activities, including World Malaria Day and bi‑annual MNCH weeks.
• Mentor medical officers, nurses/midwives, CHEWs, and CHWs in project‑supported health facilities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or nursing) or a Master’s in Public Health.
• Minimum 8 years of experience implementing malaria programs (community malaria or malaria in pregnancy).
• At least 5 years of experience managing malaria or related public‑health initiatives.
