Senior Art Director

About the role

A fast-paced, growth-focused marketing agency in Lagos, which helps its clients grow sales through innovative, data-driven marketing, is looking for a Creative Senior Art Director. The role turns brand concepts into tangible creative collateral while keeping high creative standards across print, collateral, direct mail, ad circulars and web creative. It involves active participation in brainstorming and presenting creative rationale.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the creative direction and expectations for each project so it fits the client, brand and business objectives and stays cohesive across the campaign
• Oversee several design projects at once: create teams and timelines, meet deadlines, confirm client satisfaction and troubleshoot issues
• Take part in strategic brainstorming and collaborate with Account Management, Planning and the wider creative team
• Present, share and review creative work with the Creative Director, Account Management and Planning leads and the management team
• Art direct and execute original, iconic creative concepts from client briefs, and manage and delegate work to other team members
• Stay up to date with trends and best practice, and incorporate new technology into daily work

Required profile

• 7-8 years of experience as an Art Director or professional designer in an advertising or creative agency
• Degree in advertising, marketing, design, fine art or graphic design (ideal but not mandatory); a design-related postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
• Experience supervising and training employees; significant experience in a fast-paced agency or start-up setting
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality and attention to detail under tight deadlines

Required skills

• Thorough fluency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Working knowledge of promotional media vendors and product specifications
• Strong portfolio and proven design skills
• Leadership, communication and project management skills
