Senior Actuarial & Global Risk Modeling Specialist (SME)

About the role

We are seeking a senior actuarial and global risk modeling specialist to lead the design and evaluation of sophisticated insurance and financial risk models. The role requires deep expertise in quantitative risk, catastrophe modeling, and translating complex, low‑frequency events into actionable financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate actuarial, financial and risk models for low‑frequency, high‑impact events.
• Conduct scenario, sensitivity, stress‑testing and probabilistic risk assessments.
• Analyze pricing, expected losses, capital requirements and risk‑transfer structures.
• Evaluate model assumptions, data quality, limitations and uncertainty.
• Translate model outputs into clear insights for executives, investors, governments and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Approximately 6+ years of professional experience in actuarial science, insurance, reinsurance, catastrophe or systemic risk modeling, or related fields.
• Proven ability to build, review, challenge and explain complex quantitative models independently.
• Experience working with governments, regulators, NGOs or development organisations is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated interest in protecting societies from large‑scale global risks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel, Python, R, SQL and VBA for quantitative modeling.
• Progress toward or completion of a recognized actuarial qualification (e.g., IFoA, SOA, CAS, ASA, FIA, FSA, ACAS, FCAS).
