Senior Accountant

About the role

Gourmet Twist is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to lead core accounting functions and support financial decision‑making across its operations in Lekki, Lagos. The role ensures accurate financial records, strong internal controls and regulatory compliance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely posting of transactions.
• Perform bank, vendor and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations.
• Monitor and strengthen internal control procedures.
• Prepare and submit periodic tax filings and regulatory reports.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Supervise junior accounting staff where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA or ACA) required or in advanced stages.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation and internal controls.
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail or FMCG sectors is a plus.
