Sales Manager - Plantain Flour (FMCG / Food Ingredients)

About the role

A client in the agricultural production sector, represented by eRecruiter, is hiring a Sales Manager to drive plantain flour sales in Nigeria and internationally. The role owns end-to-end revenue generation: building predictable B2B demand pipelines, securing large-scale buyers and ensuring consistent off-take of production capacity (target of 100% absorption, scaling to 400 MT per month). It is a revenue-generating role, not a relationship-management role.

Key responsibilities

• Sell 100% of monthly production output (100-200 MT initially, scaling to 400 MT) to distributors, food manufacturers, FMCG aggregators and institutional buyers
• Build a structured pipeline of B2B buyers in Nigeria, West Africa, Europe, North America and Asia, including gluten-free, bakery ingredient, ethnic food and health food segments
• Develop export channels and at least 2 active export lines within 12-18 months, taking part in international food fairs and sourcing events
• Position the company as a contract manufacturer for branded flour products and negotiate long-term supply agreements
• Maintain pricing discipline, a pricing database and a CRM-style pipeline tracking system
• Report weekly on volume sold, pipeline status, conversion rates and revenue forecast, and share market intelligence on competitors and demand trends

Required profile

• Minimum 7-10 years in B2B FMCG or food ingredient sales
• Proven experience selling bulk packaged goods, commodities or food manufacturing inputs, and managing large-volume accounts
• Documented revenue achievements and experience closing institutional or distributor-level contracts
• Prior exposure to international buyers or export processes, and familiarity with food import requirements (FDA, EU)
