Sales Manager - Corporate & Banquet Business

About the role

A hotel in Lagos is looking for a Sales Manager to drive targeted sales and revenue across room, banquet and event business. The role covers corporate, government, airline, NGO, oil & gas, travel agent and diplomatic markets, and includes managing key accounts and promoting the hotel's event spaces and banqueting facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales plans to meet and exceed room, banquet and overall revenue targets.
• Sourcing and negotiating corporate contracts, group bookings, long-stay agreements and event business, and conducting sales calls, client visits and networking in Lagos and surrounding areas.
• Prepare and present tailored proposals, contracts and rate negotiations to clients.
• Build relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents and event planners, handle complaints and organise client entertainment, fam trips and site inspections.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and demand patterns in the Lagos hospitality market.
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports, forecasts and performance analyses, and keep client interaction, contract and pipeline records in a CRM or sales system.
• Work with Front Office, Reservations, Revenue, Banqueting and Operations, and coordinate with Marketing on promotions and campaigns.
• Promote event spaces (hall) and banqueting facilities, aiming to bring in at least 3 corporate or leisure events per month.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• HND in a related field.
