Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead the implementation and enforcement of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies across our construction projects in Lagos. You will play a key role in creating a safe workplace, conducting inspections, and supporting continuous improvement of safety performance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Monitor compliance with local health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near‑misses and produce corrective action reports.
• Organise and deliver safety training, inductions, and awareness programmes for staff and contractors.
• Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate HSE records and track safety performance metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in a relevant field.
• Basic knowledge of HSE standards and workplace safety.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and promote safe work practices.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Relevant HSE certifications are an advantage.
