Risk and Compliance Officer

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Officer will analyse potential risks affecting the organisation's operations, finances and reputation, and support the implementation of strategies to manage those risks. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure robust governance and compliance across insurance and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate insurance broker performance against agreed SLAs, compliance standards and service quality benchmarks; identify gaps and escalate non‑compliance.
• Ensure accountability of third‑party partners, strengthen governance and support cost‑effective insurance risk transfer strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments across fleet and warehouse operations; recommend mitigation actions and track implementation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Fleet, Warehouse, Workshop, HSE) to collect, validate and analyse risk and compliance data.
• Support end‑to‑end insurance claims administration, ensuring proper documentation, policy compliance and timely processing.
• Review, maintain and update insurance policies to ensure completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Track compliance with internal risk management policies, insurance protocols and external regulatory requirements; support audit readiness.
• Maintain risk registers, prepare risk and compliance reports for management and audit purposes.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and evidence.
• Identify control gaps and process inefficiencies; recommend improvements aligned with best practices.
• Stay up to date on insurance products, regulatory changes and risk management best practices; share insights with the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Finance, Risk Management or a related field.
