Regulatory Manager

About the role

The Regulatory Manager will ensure Johnvents Group remains fully compliant with Nigeria's evolving agribusiness and commodities regulations. Acting as the primary liaison with agencies such as SEC, CBN, NAFDAC and the Export Promotion Council, you will proactively manage risk, secure licences and align operations with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all formal communications and engagements with key regulatory bodies.
• Manage end‑to‑end licensing, permit renewal and certification processes for agribusiness and commodity trading.
• Respond to regulatory inquiries, inspections and assessments, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Monitor regulatory changes, conduct impact assessments and advise leadership on required operational adjustments.
• Develop and implement internal compliance policies and oversee periodic regulatory reporting.
• Prepare and present compliance reports to the Board and executive team.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to meet health, safety and environmental standards.
• Conduct internal audits and gap analyses to keep the group audit‑ready.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
• Professional certification in Compliance (e.g., CAMS) or call to the Nigerian Bar preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate legal or government relations, preferably within agribusiness, FMCG or financial services.

Required skills

• Regulatory Knowledge of Nigerian commodities, import/export and agricultural regulations.
• Legal Research and ability to translate complex legislation into operational guidance.
