Receivable Accountant

About the role

The Receivable Accountant will manage the company’s receivables and inter‑company relationships, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and proper financial reporting within the Finance department of Dangote Ports Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Enter customer invoices and payment receipts into Microsoft Dynamics 365 on a daily basis.
• Follow up with customers to secure timely payments and resolve disputes.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer accounts and obtain sign‑off for month‑end and year‑end closures.
• Maintain records of withholding tax, reconcile remittances with tax authorities, and manage recoverable accounts.
• Prepare monthly ageing analysis reports to highlight overdue balances.
• Compile weekly activity reports for the Managing Director’s office.
• Support additional finance tasks such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting or a related financial discipline; M.Sc. or MBA is a plus.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in accounts receivable or credit control.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition, and Nigerian tax regulations.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP systems).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modelling, and reporting.
