Project / QHSE Engineer

About the role

The Project / QHSE Engineer supports project execution while ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements. The position is based in Port Harcourt and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure timely delivery.
• Implement and enforce QHSE policies, procedures and standards.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits.
• Prepare project and QHSE reports, documentation and records.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with client, statutory and company requirements.
• Support quality inspections, testing and project close-out activities.
• Collaborate with project teams to achieve project and QHSE objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in project engineering and/or QHSE within the oil & gas, construction or engineering industry.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of project management tools is an advantage.
• Key competencies: project coordination, QHSE management, risk assessment and hazard identification, quality assurance and control, problem solving, communication and reporting, teamwork and attention to detail.
