About the role
A Chief Engineer position is available in Port Harcourt for offshore work, with a stated salary range of N700,000 to N1,200,000. The role requires a fully qualified Chief Engineer with the right certificates and several years of marine engineering experience.
Required profile
- Relevant and valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) appropriate to the vessel's propulsion power and trading area.
- Applicable STCW certificates and a valid seafarer medical certificate.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant marine engineering experience, preferably including service in the Chief Engineer rank.
- Previous experience on an OSV, PSV or AHTS vessel is strongly preferred.
- Valid seafarer's documentation and offshore safety training as required by the employer.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators, propulsion systems and planned maintenance.
- Experience with Caterpillar, Wärtsilä, MAN, Bergen, Cummins or similar marine engine systems is an advantage.
