Project Officer – Regional Cooperation & Institutional Support (EU Delegation)

About the role

The EU Delegation in Abuja seeks a Project Officer to support the Regional Cooperation section. Working under the Team Leader, the officer will contribute to the Global Gateway objective by facilitating large‑scale infrastructure investments across digital, energy, transport and other priority sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support policy and sector‑specific dialogue with ECOWAS, its agencies, EU Member States, development partners, financial institutions and the private sector.
• Coordinate and enhance the Delegation’s support to ECOWAS in various sectors, identifying investment opportunities that accelerate transformational projects.
• Provide analysis and expertise to help deliver on Global Gateway investment goals.
• Assist the Regional Cooperation team with research, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Adapt to evolving delegation needs and undertake occasional atypical working hours.

Required profile

• Proven experience in policy and sector analysis related to regional cooperation and investment.
• Ability to support multi‑stakeholder dialogue with international organisations and private sector actors.
• Capacity to work under the supervision of the Team Leader and within a multicultural diplomatic environment.
• Willingness to work occasional atypical hours as required.
